Here are some brief thoughts from the evening service on November 3rd 2013.
1. Don't demand to understand. God is sovereign in His dealings with man. We need to trust that His love for us will cause all happenings in our life to work out for His good and His glory. When something bad happens, it is not time to doubt His love, but rather an opportunity to trust His will. 2. Don't forget the resource of prayer. We have a God Who loves us and delights in hearing us come to Him in prayer. Prayer is the key to knowing God in a personal way, just as time spent in conversation with your spouse or a friend will help you know them better. When times are hard, talk to the one Who is in control of all things and loves you more than you can even know. 3. Put your eyes on God and rest in Him. Our biggest temptation in times of crisis is to look at the problem and focus on how we can work it out. We need to realize that God is bigger than our problem and if we just cast that care on Him, He is able to bear it for us. 4. Expect God to do great things. Through out the Bible, we find that our God is consistent to work in the lives of His children. There are many examples of men and women who trusted God and He worked mightily in their lives. Do not think that our God had these people as His favorites! He wants to work like that through us as well. Just trust Him to do great things through your life. You can check out the full message on the podcast page. In conclusion, when you face the crisis, don't let go of the Christ!
